Vacancy Breakdown: Check Your Post

NCERT is hiring for multiple levels. Here is the simplified list of vacancies so you can find the right post for your qualification.

1. Group C Posts (Most Popular – 138 Seats)

These posts are suitable for 10th, 12th, ITI, and Graduates.

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 54 Posts (High Demand)
  • Lab Assistant: 25 Posts (Physics, Chemistry, Bio, etc.)
  • Store Keeper (Grade I & II): 22 Posts
  • Technician Grade-I: 08 Posts
  • Driver / Lightman / Painter / Carpenter: Various Posts
  • Floor Assistant / Film Assistant: 05 Posts

2. Group B Posts (26 Seats)

  • Senior/Junior Accountant: 02 Posts
  • Store Officer: 01 Post
  • Production / Engineering Assistant: 12 Posts
  • Junior Hindi Translator: 01 Post

3. Group A Posts (09 Seats)

  • Superintending Engineer / Business Manager: 02 Posts
  • Assistant Engineer (Grade A): 04 Posts

Eligibility Criteria (As on 30 Jan 2026)

To get selected, you must meet the specific education and age requirements.

1. Education Qualification

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC):
    • Must have passed 12th Class (Intermediate) from a recognized board.
    • Typing Speed: 35 w.p.m. in English OR 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on Computer.
  • Lab Assistant:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject (Physics/Chemistry/Biology/etc.) depending on the lab requirement.
  • Store Keeper:
    • 12th Pass or Graduate (Arts/Science/Commerce) depending on the Grade applied for.
  • Technician / Tradesman:
    • 10th Pass + ITI Certificate in the relevant trade (Electrician, Carpenter, etc.) OR Diploma in Engineering.

2. Age Limit

  • Group C Posts (LDC, Lab Asst): Maximum 27 Years.
  • Group B Posts: Maximum 30 Years.
  • Group A Posts: Maximum 35-50 Years (varies by post).

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: +5 Years
  • OBC (NCL): +3 Years
  • PwBD: +10 Years

Salary Structure (7th Pay Commission)

Selected candidates will receive a central government-level salary.

  • Group A: Pay Level 10-12 (Highest Salary)
  • Group B: Pay Level 6-7 (Mid-Level)
  • Group C (LDC, Lab Asst): Pay Level 2-5
    • Example: LDC Starting Basic Pay is ₹19,900 + DA + HRA. Gross salary will be approx ₹30,000 – ₹35,000+ per month.

Selection Process

How will you get the job? The process is simple and transparent.

  1. Written Examination (CBT): The main selection is based on marks scored here.
  2. Skill Test (Qualifying Only):
    • For LDC: Typing Test on Computer.
    • For Driver/Technician: Trade Proficiency Test.
  3. Document Verification: Checking of original certificates.

Note: For Group B & C posts, there is NO Interview. Selection is purely on Written Exam marks.
